Scales and all
I also wanted to do a quick post on how we did the makeup for the parade. We had so many people asking about it, that I wanted to be sure and show off our technique.
First, I used concealer and powder all over my face and then put on my eyeshadow and blush. Then, I put a fishnet stocking over my head and Dinne helped dab on high-pigment eyeshadow for the scales. On my face she used a couple different teals and greens. I ended up looking like someone from an Alexander McQueen fashion show with the stocking on my head. It wasn’t the most comfortable thing, but it worked. I then took off the stocking and Dinne helped add a few contour lines with eyeliner along a few of the scales. To top it all off I added fake eyelashes and heart-shaped lipstick. I wanted to add more scales to my arms and neckline, but we ran out of time. Oh, time. There’s always next year!

Hi Sarah,
We didn’t even place this year! Such a bummer, but there’s always next year I guess.

Love these photos, what a great event!! And the fish scales…I’m going to have to try that and freak out my high school students come October. Outstanding!

Oh my gosh, Linda, you have to send me photos if you try it! If you can get a friend to help, I highly recommend it. Plus, they can take pics and make fun of you while you have pantyhose on your head, which is always good.
